The Red Wine IGT “Mario” 1952 is our tribute to Grandfather Mario who, in 1952, created and grew our company. It is produced in a limited and exclusive series. The Red Wine IGT “Mario” 1952 is one of those niche products that the market is increasingly appreciating. It is part of the so-called "barrique wines" or, more commonly, called SuperTuscan. They are high quality wines, produced in Tuscany with Sangiovese grapes. It is produced with a mix of 40% Merlot grapes, 40% Cabernet Sauvignon grapes and 20% Sangiovese grapes. The annual production is 60 quintals of grapes per hectare. After manual harvesting, the must undergoes slow fermentation in stainless steel tanks at a controlled temperature of around 24° C for a period of 20 days, then the skins continue maceration in the wine for up to 50 days. After vinification, the wine obtained is placed in wooden barrels with a capacity of 500 liters called Tonneaux for 18 months for its maturation. The wine is also refined in the bottle for another 12 months before being released for consumption. The Red Wine IGT “Mario” 1952 has an intense ruby ​​red color with light brick red notes. The scent is very complex, ethereal, with strong notes of ripe fruit and spices. In the mouth the taste is very full and harmonious, with hints of spices and chocolate. It pairs perfectly with game dishes, important red meats and mature cheeses. It should be served after a good decanting of at least 2 hours at a temperature of around 18° C. It has an alcohol content of 14.5%.
